Fitness Solutions is a locally owned, Trusted Saskatoon Fitness Equipment store, and has had the privilege of serving Residential and Commercial customers for over 30 years. We have the tools and the experience to make your fitness goals a reality. We are here every step of the way to guide and educate you through the process of finding the perfect piece of equipment. In our latest article, we talk about the many challenges COVID-19 has had on Fitness Solutions in 2020. 

Why Fitness Equipment at Fitness Solutions is Worth The Wait

Prior to the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020, customers were able to shop on our Fitness Solutions website to browse and purchase products. Customers  could stop by the store, order in store and if you were local and we had the products on hand, we could have had them to you in 24 hours or less! 

By the end of March all the gyms were shut down, the snow was still falling and people were wanting to purchase fitness equipment for their homes. The in-stock equipment we carry sold out very quickly and we had very little product left to sell on our shelves! We contacted our suppliers to order products to restock and were told that everything was sold out or heavily delayed due to supply chain disruption. 

In response to this and the mass influx of online orders appearing daily, we temporarily closed our online store and directed anyone inquiring about products, availability or wanting to place an order to contact us directly through email. This allows us to gather all the information we require to provide customers with all the information required to make a decision. Our 4 phone lines continue to ring all day and we try to get to every call and message as quickly and efficiently as we can. 

How Has The Order Process Changed At Fitness Solutions?  

Please be assured, we are (and always have been) constantly ordering new equipment for the store. If you contact us and want to purchase products or place an order for a specific piece of equipment, we will confirm the current in-store availability and provide you with the current process for pre-ordering if it is not currently in stock. We can provide you an estimated date for arrival. This can vary between 30-120 days. In a ‘normal world’, this would typically be 30 days or less, however, we do not have this luxury today due to the impact of COVID-19 and the mass wipe out of products in North America with all retailers and most suppliers.

At Fitness Solutions Saskatoon, we pride ourselves on transparency and being honest with our customers. We are asking for customers to please be patient and mindful that these ETA’s can (and have) change from what we tell them, sometimes without us even knowing. We try to quickly and efficiently communicate this update with you in a timely manner when we receive the update. There are many contributing factors to the delays from suppliers. 

The delays have been:

  • Most suppliers have been wiped out of stock for their retailers and are in production of their products at the factories. These factories have been shut down temporarily and are now functioning again, however not at full capacity. 
  • Backlogged orders at our supplier chain due to the supplier being shut down due to the COVID-19 impact and so the communication from them to Fitness Solutions is delayed.
  • Delays that manufacturers are running into at the borders.
  • Shipping and logistics delays, with less trucks running drivers are not as available.
  • New COVID-19 policies with delivery standards in the country of origin.
  • Our Service department parts have also been affected as well with the impact of COVID-19

Please Be Patient and #BeKind With Our Process  

Our store continues to receive literally hundreds of emails and phone calls each day from customers inquiring about fitness equipment. We have had nearly 70,000 people visit our website from January to August, with last year over the same time period we had 13,000. 

There are 3 employees handling these inquiries, so to ensure a smooth process please email us. We will contact you as soon as we can, we can also arrange for in-store shopping by appointment, masks are required. If we have an item in stock, we can arrange delivery or we are still offering curbside pick up. If the item is not in stock you will have the option of either pre-ordering with a deposit to secure the equipment you want when it arrives, or if you prefer not to commit to a deposit, we can add you to the waiting list. Please understand if you choose the waiting list that this does not necessarily mean you will get the product when it arrives, as others may have secured all items in a shipment by placing a pre-order with a deposit. 

We understand that having your fitness equipment delayed is not convenient. We know putting down a deposit and waiting for 3 months is not ideal either. We also acknowledge that you could potentially go to a big box store and buy equipment in a shorter time frame. However, unlike big box stores, our local team of experts work with you to find the best possible options to match your unique fitness goals. We stand behind the quality of our brands, they will last you for many years. We truly care and we want to be with you throughout your fitness journey, to guide and educate you through the process of finding the perfect piece of equipment to make your goals happen.

At Fitness Solutions Saskatoon, our team is doing the best we can with what is available during these times. Unfortunately, we expect these supply issues to last for at least 1 year, so we ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this with you and truly believe Fitness Solutions equipment is worth the wait.
